The Fast Track English club is a working group provided by Mr. Pfefferle. It is divided into two groups. One group of sixth and seventh graders and the other group of eighth and ninth graders. Mr. Pfefferle is responsible for both groups and it takes time every Wednesday. The FTE club can even increase your English grade a little.

Lea and I interviewed a few participants from FTE as well as Mr. Pfefferle and other students that are not in the FTE.

Mr. Pfefferle

Camäléon: Hello Mr. Pfefferle!

Mr. Pfefferle: Hi there!

Camäléon: Here are some questions for the interview on Camäléon about the Fast Track English club. First of all, please introduce yourself.

Mr. Pfefferle: My name is Stefan Pfefferle. I’m a teacher of English at DFG-LFA. I’ve been working here for 15 years now. I also rarely teach French.

Camäléon: And since when does the Fast Track English club exist?

Mr. Pfefferle: It was introduced 4 years ago and at that time I wasn’t the one who actually came up with that idea, but somebody else.

Camäléon: So you weren’t the only teacher for the Fast Track English club. Who else was there then?

Mr. Pfefferle: It was actually my colleage Ms. Köwenig. I think she was the first one who came up with the idea or it was the idea of the English department. And she was the first to teach the Fast Track English club.

Camäléon: So for how long were you the teacher for the Fast Track English club?

Mr. Pfefferle: It’s my 3rd year right now.

Camäléon: Does the Fast Track English club make you stressed or anything or is it easy to handle?

Mr. Pfefferle: Well, it’s really not that stressful because I know that if students come they’re really interested and I obviously never have to calm down people like in a regular class setting. So it’s a whole enjoyable experience for myself.

Camäléon: As the only teacher in the Fast Track English club, do you enjoy it?

Mr. Pfefferle: I do. Very much actually. Because I know it’s people that have interest in the subject, people that enjoy communicating. So it’s always a pleasure.

Camäléon: And lastly: Are you sometimes sad if only a few are in the Fast Track English club?

Mr. Pfefferle: Well, on one hand, it’s true. There could be more students. But on the other hand, nobody should feel forced to attend a club that they’re not fully convinced of. So I’m happy with any number of students.

Camäléon: Okay, that’s all. Goodbye!

Mr. Pfefferle: Goodbye. Thank you.
