Man w\u00fcrde zwar denken, dass die Hauptgeschichte der Serie damit zu tun hat, wie der hier 12 Jahre alte Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) zu Batman wird, jedoch dreht sich die Hauptstory um James Gordon (Ben McKenzie), der gerade in die Stadt gezogen ist, um Polizist beim GCPD zu werden und Harvey Bullock (Donald Logue), ein schon seit l\u00e4ngerer Zeit aktiver Polizist beim GCPD. Mit in der Story verfangen sind nat\u00fcrlich auch Oswald Cobblepot alias The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Selina Kyle oder auch Catwomen (Camren Bicondova), Alfred Pennyworth Sean (Pertwee) und Bruce Wayne, der teilweise versucht alleine den Mord an seinen Eltern auf zu decken.<\/p>\n<p>Die Serie wird oft wegen des Ver\u00e4nderns der eigentlichen Geschichten rund um Batmans Universum kritisiert. Etwa beispielsweise daf\u00fcr, dass der Pinguin nach der Anweisung von Carmine Falcone, einem Mafiaboss in Gotham von James Gordon get\u00f6tet werden soll und er deswegen Rache nehmen will. In dem Film &#8220;Batman Returns&#8221; von 1992 wird er jedoch, weil er ein sehr merkw\u00fcrdiges Kleinkind ist, von seiner Familie in die Kanalisation versto\u00dfen und dort von Pinguinen gro\u00dfgezogen, weswegen er sich auch Penguin nennt. In Gotham hasst er diesen Spitznamen und wird von Helfern des Mafiabosses Falcone wegen seinem merkw\u00fcrdigen Gang so getauft.<\/p>\n<p>Meiner Meinung nach ist die Serie aber trotzdem empfehlenswert, da man die Superschurken aus Batman besser kennen lernt.
